This is the highest mountain (925m) both in the Park and on the east coast of Ireland. There are no way-marked trails to the summit. Only experienced hillwalkers who know how to use a map and compass are advised to attempt the summit. The summit is flanked by cliffs and the Glen of Imaal army firing range. Check our mountain safety section for more on the precautions you need to take. If firing is on in the artillery range there will be restrictions on access to the mountain. To find out when firing is occurring contact the Glen of Imaal Army Warden Office at +353-45-404653 (24 hours). The Information Office, Glendalough sells 'Hillwalkers Wicklow' by David Herman which describes some of the routes to the summit.
