Wicklow Mountains National Park
Aerial monitoring over the Park

Aerial Monitoring

The Park extends over 17,000 hectares (170 square km) and is part of the wider Wicklow Uplands Special Area of Conservation. Some areas within the Park are remote or difficult to access. Aerial monitoring is an efficient and effective method of examining large expanses of terrain for any negative impacts. Annual aerial monitoring complements the regular vehicle and foot patrols carried out by Conservation Rangers.
