Wicklow Mountains National Park
Summit of Tonlegee Mountain at sunset.

Tonlegee Mountain, Tin le Gaoith

Pictured is a hillwalker on the summit of Tonlegee Mountain at dusk. Tonlegee is 817 metres in altitude and is located at grid reference O 085 016 to the north of the Wicklow Gap. It is the third highest mountain in the Park after Mullaghcleevaun and Lugnaquilla. Concrete posts are to be found on top of many of the mountains in Wicklow. These are trigonometry points which were constructed for the first surveys of the mountains. They are useful landmarks especially when navigating in mist.
